Books by Kristin Hannah, Emily Henry, and Suzanne Collins were in high demand with library patrons in 2025.
Several public libraries have released lists of their most borrowed books of the year, including those in Denver, Boston, Toronto, and Hennepin County, Minnesota (home of Minneapolis and St. Paul).
Hannah’s The Women was No. 1 in Hennepin County, No. 2 in Boston, No. 3 in Toronto, and No. 7 in Boston. The library reading app Libby recently announced that the novel topped the list of e-book checkouts and was No. 2 among audiobook checkouts.
Romance author Henry proved popular with readers, with her latest novel, Great Big Beautiful Life, coming in at No. 6 in Toronto and No. 10 in Boston, while taking the No. 1 spot in the romance category in Denver. Her novel Happy Place was No. 3 in Boston, and Funny Story was at No. 7 in Toronto and No. 9 in Hennepin County.
Collins’ latest Hunger Games novel, Sunrise on the Reaping, topped the teen fiction list in Denver and came in at No. 6 among all books in Boston. It also came in at No. 1 among juvenile e-books in Hennepin County.
Other books to appear on multiple library lists include Percival Everett’s James, Alison Espach’s The Wedding People, and Mel Robbins’ The Let Them Theory.
