One of Harlan Coben’s most beloved characters is finally heading to the screen.
Netflix is developing a series based on Coben’s Myron Bolitar books, Deadline reports. The series is part of a long collaboration between the thriller author and the streaming service.
Coben introduced Bolitar, a former NBA player turned lawyer and sports agent, in the 1995 novel, Deal Breaker. Eleven more novels followed, including Drop Shot, One False Move, Darkest Fear, Promise Me, Live Wire, and, most recently, Think Twice.
The series adaptation, titled Myron Bolitar, will be written and executive-produced by David E. Kelley, known for his shows The Practice, Ally McBeal, and Big Little Lies, and Kyle Long, the co-executive producer of Suits and Bosch: Legacy. Coben will also executive-produce, alongside Greg Yaitanes (House of the Dragon, Presumed Innocent), who will direct several episodes.
Coben’s collaboration with Netflix began in 2018, when they entered a deal under which 14 of Coben’s novels would be adapted by the streamer. Netflix has since developed 12 series or films based on Coben’s books, including The Stranger, Gone for Good, and Run Away.
“What an honor—not to mention, great fun—it is to partner up at Netflix with legend David E. Kelley and his remarkable team on this exciting new series,” Coben told Deadline. “The Myron Bolitar books mean a great deal to me, and I’m thrilled to have such a talented and inspired group bringing them to life.”
