Narrator Jim Frangione returns listeners to the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, in which vampires, demons, and angels secretly exist among humans. Lassiter, a fallen angel, has found love with the mysterious vampire Rahvyn. Frangione embodies all the emotions Lassiter feels--from despair when he thinks that he and Rahvyn must be separated to joy when they are reunited. Frangione masterfully provides a deep masculine voice for the vampire fighters and is equally adept at the female characters. Threatening the vampires is the demon Devina and her lover, Lash, and Frangione makes them sound appropriately menacing. Frangione takes listeners from pure despair to elation.

Frangione is the longtime narrator of this series, and his familiarity with it adds to the listening experience.
Narrator Jim Frangione once again draws listeners into Ward's world, where humans coexist with vampires (unbeknownst to the humans). The vampires are being hunted by creatures known as Lessers. Vampire Allhan has an unexpected encounter with Princess Dennesha. Passion flares between them, but both are struggling with secrets: Frangione conveys Dennesha’s frustration with her destiny, and he fully expresses Allhan’s agony as he’s torn between trying to protect his sister and betraying his adopted family. The vampire race is protected by The Brotherhood, and Frangione perfectly brings the brothers to life.

Sentimental and heartfelt.
Megan Wicks and Robert Hatchet convey all the emotions in this small-town contemporary romance with a slight touch of the supernatural. Clarke Cartwright has the ability to see and talk to ghosts—including the ghost of her childhood crush’s father, who wants her to pass on a message. Leith Wilkes is preparing to take over the family farm when he learns of a troublesome clause in his inheritance. Wicks’ warm, alluring tone lets listeners understand Clarke’s inner turmoil and conflict. Hatchet makes Leith easy to love, giving him an affable, rich timbre and portraying his affection and fervor. The duet narration shines during emotional conversations and intimate moments.
