Carlotta Brentan is the latest narrator for The Witches of Thistle Grove series. This third book focuses on Nina Blackmoore, who attempts to heal her broken heart by going on a date with a person picked by her best friend. Not only is eclectic and nonbinary Morty not Nina's type, but Morty's family owns the very pub that the Blackmoore family has been trying to buy. Surprisingly, some explosive magic intervenes and entwines their fates. Improvements could have been made on Morty's voice, which doesn't match his description, and the word "padawan" is continually mispronounced. But, overall, Brentan's expressive delivery keeps the narration sultry, while her speaking voice for best friend Jessa sounds perfectly friendly and supportive.

Narrator Jim Frangione once again draws listeners into Ward's world, where humans coexist with vampires (unbeknownst to the humans). The vampires are being hunted by creatures known as Lessers. Vampire Allhan has an unexpected encounter with Princess Dennesha. Passion flares between them, but both are struggling with secrets: Frangione conveys Dennesha’s frustration with her destiny, and he fully expresses Allhan’s agony as he’s torn between trying to protect his sister and betraying his adopted family. The vampire race is protected by The Brotherhood, and Frangione perfectly brings the brothers to life.

Sentimental and heartfelt.
Megan Wicks and Robert Hatchet convey all the emotions in this small-town contemporary romance with a slight touch of the supernatural. Clarke Cartwright has the ability to see and talk to ghosts—including the ghost of her childhood crush’s father, who wants her to pass on a message. Leith Wilkes is preparing to take over the family farm when he learns of a troublesome clause in his inheritance. Wicks’ warm, alluring tone lets listeners understand Clarke’s inner turmoil and conflict. Hatchet makes Leith easy to love, giving him an affable, rich timbre and portraying his affection and fervor. The duet narration shines during emotional conversations and intimate moments.
