TO HAVE AND TO HEIST

Narrator Soneela Nankani channels a bountiful amount of energy while portraying an amateur heist crew as they plot to steal back a stolen necklace. Leading the team is Simi, an apathetic late bloomer who forms the crew when her best friend is falsely accused of the original theft. Each member has an outsized personality, and Nankani shapes her performance to match each character's temperament and age. Nankani has a knack for comedic timing. Her narration emphasizes the constant stream of jokes and quips in this banter-filled audio. Helping Simi plan the heist is Jack, a smooth-talking man of mystery. Nankani's narration takes on a sultry tone as things heat up between the pair. This zany misadventure will give listeners plenty to smile about.

He presents a tale of growing up and growing old which is bittersweet and funny. Narrator Ivey uses a slight east Texas accent which authenticates the setting of the story. Each character's voice has a slightly different inflection to differentiate it. It all works together well. THE GATE OF ANGELS

To Fred Fairly, a Cambridge Fellow, truth is everything. What then is the truth about the woman he finds beside him when he awakens? English conventions and mores of 1912 Cambridge are central to this period piece. Callow's wonderful voice and interpretation make accents, personalities and gender come alive, and help make sense of the frequent time and character shifts. His delivery enhances a most clever "choose your own ending."
