KIRKUS REVIEW

Reported originally on page 203 of the 5/1/40 bulletin as follows: ""Captain MacLain, the blind detective, and his two dogs play their parts once again in a story which combines mystery, sabotage and espionage. The disappearance of a girl in Hartford serves as a blind for stealing plans on New York's defense, and the resultant adventures provide all the old thrill climaxes with some modern twists. More melodrama than straight detective tale.
