KIRKUS REVIEW

Bunnies (How many? One? Two? Five? Each spread tells a different tale) parade out in wetsuits and masks in this rhymed companion to Cowboy Bunnies (1997) and Astro Bunnies (2001). After encounters with sharks, a sunken ship, friendly dolphins, sea otters, whales and “tortoises” (actually sea turtles), all depicted in scanned and digitally reworked cartoon seascapes, the weary lagomorphs paddle back to parental laps and naps. Despite the new setting and minor plot differences, this outing is basically interchangeable with its two predecessors; only young audiences unfamiliar with them (or parents sick to death of rereading them) will dive in with much enthusiasm. (Picture book. 5-7)
