KIRKUS REVIEW

The winner of last year's Newbery Award writes a charming story about ten-year-old Mab from Iowa, and the winter and spring spent with Aunt Belinda on Pokenick Island off the New England coast. Nothing much happens, but nothing needs to, because the children and their doings and their conversation are so entertaining and so spontaneous.
