KIRKUS REVIEW

Another Melendy adventure -- first in quite a spell -- this time a very light brain-teasing mystery in which rhymes and searches play a large part. Randy Melendy was sure her winter was going to be a lonely one without her two older brothers and sister. However, when a strange letter arrives for Randy and her younger brother, the two are sent off on an October to June search, guided by a series of clues disguised in rhyme. Fourteen messages keep the children busy during the winter and spring and there is a grand family reunion in the fall. Good fun for those who like to outguess the detectives.
