KIRKUS REVIEW

An abandoned hut stands on the old railroad line; one hot, dusty summer day, Sara and James get off their bicycles to explore. They try to make a camp, but the decay is too great. Later, they return with their parents, who help them restore order to the little hut and regale them with stories of the trains in days gone by. When a thunderstorm suddenly pours down, Sara and James are convinced they see the last railroad train puffing along the tracks in the rain. A sweet, lyrical tale enhanced by lovely, soft-focused illustrations. (Picture book. 3+)
