KIRKUS REVIEW

Mike Hammer, licensed investigator and a bit too lethal for police and society's rules, sticks it out to the end in a case too hot to handle because of its political and Communistic angles. Latching on to the Moscow pipeline, he is betrayed and becomes a target for the comrades, saves his gal and outthinks the MVD -- and saves the country....Slambang-brazen -- snarling -- fleshy -- this is the usual lush pulpery.
