KIRKUS REVIEW

When Tina and her parents fly to Grandma's Florida home, Tina imagines that Thanksgiving will include the traditional fixings, even though Grandma's no longer on the Minnesota farm. Not at all: Grandma picks up pies at the store after aerobics--to follow the fish and chips they eat out when it's time for the big meal. Still, all the beavers have such a good time that Tina and her parents soon get over their initial consternation that Grandma's not doing all the work, as she used to. Carlson's lively, cartoon-like illustrations are full of amusing details, satirizing the Florida scene and poking gentle fun at the family dynamics. (Picture book. 4-8)*justify no*
