KIRKUS REVIEW

A spat between Wolfe and Goodwin sends Archie to Otis Jarrell's household as secretary to get evidence that will have Jarrell's daughter-in-law thrown out. The whole Jarrell set-up is full of possibilities as to the leak in his big deals; the murder of the ex-secretary followed by that of Jarrell's competitor spurs Wolfe into browbeating all of them for his own self respect. Assumptions to assurances smartly.
