KIRKUS REVIEW

Fifth in the series (Tek Vengeance, 1992, etc.) featuring private detective Jake Cardigan and his sidekick Sid Gomez. Here, Alicia Bower, daughter of the world's wealthiest robotics industrialist, has disappeared. Jake and Sid, aided by Jake's son Dan and Dan's girlfriend Molly, track Alicia to the Mentor Psych Center, where Dr. Isaac Spearman shrinks heads in unpleasant ways- -in this case, obliging Alicia to forget that she overheard details of a conspiracy involving a US government agency, the ubiquitous Teklords, and killer robots built by her father. It's all very cozy and familiar by now, as Shatner endeavors to turn Trekkies into Tekkies. The Tek telemovie reportedly in the works should help, too.
