KIRKUS REVIEW

Bill Atholl's return to London brings him into a Yorkshire inheritance and introduces him to Mary, whom he soon marries. Their honeymoon is shadowed by attempts on their lives and Bill, needing an assist in protecting Mary from her past, calls in his pal from Guiana, Cameron the American. Together with young and almost intrepid Bella, they are ready to stand off the open violence that a narcotics ring promises, nearly come out on top in spite of the treachery of a farm hand and the double play that Mary makes, and finally win their last bid for freedom from their sinister pursuers. Suspense that has a nearer link to straight mystery, this tunes in on villainous melodramatics.
