KIRKUS REVIEW

Short pieces from the New Yorker, Harper's Bazaar, etc. which again show O'Hara's ability to reproduce conversations verbatim of the various types of people he knows best, the marrieds, the drinkers, the Hollywooders, musicians, the little people of the world who won't admit to defeat. There's some humor, there are many of the rodent types that don't make for pleasant reading, there is a full dose of satire and irony, but the whole doesn't add any cubit to O'Hara's stature as an author.
