The National Book Foundation unveiled the lineup for the fall season of NBF Presents, with Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, Jacqueline Woodson, and Nikky Finney among the authors scheduled to appear at the foundation’s public programs.

NBF Presents aims “to connect readers across the United States with authors” who have been honored by the foundation.

The fall season will feature nine events, kicking off on Sept. 19 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, with readings and conversations featuring Darcie Little Badger (A Snake Falls to Earth), Roger Reeves (Dark Days), and Marytza K. Rubio (Maria, Maria).

On Sept. 28, Woodson (Brown Girl Dreaming), Finney (Head Off & Split), and Robin Coste Lewis (Voyage of the Sable Venus) will be in conversation at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, New York.

Authors Adjei-Brenyah (Chain-Gang All Stars), Alexandra Chang (Tomb Sweeping), and C Pam Zhang (Land of Milk and Honey) will appear at a panel at the Brooklyn Book Festival.

The remaining six events will all feature authors who are longlisted or shortlisted for the 2023 National Book Awards; longlists for the prizes are set to be announced starting Sept. 13. Those events will take place in Portland, Oregon; New York; and Miami.
