Caitlin Clark will make her literary debut with a children’s book coming later this year.

Random House Books for Young Readers will publish the basketball star’s EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA To Reach BIG Dreams, illustrated by Adriana Predoi, in the fall, the press announced in a news release. It calls the book “a heartwarming reminder to cherish the ones we love.”

Clark rose to fame as a standout player for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes from 2020 to 2024; she was named the national player of the year as a junior and senior. She was the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, signed by the Indiana Fever, and won the WNBA Rookie of the Year. Clark’s foundation has partnered with Scholastic to donate 22,000 books to schools in Indiana and her home state of Iowa.

Her book, Random House says, “shares a personal message about the foundation of her success on and off the basketball court: that love and joy matter most. Because what’s truly important in life—what deserves our EXTRA time and EXTRA attention—are the people surrounding us.”

“Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who’ve supported me along the way,” Clark said in a statement. “I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams and that giving a little extra to the people and moments is what makes them EXTRAordinary.”

EXTRAordinary! is slated for publication on Nov. 3.
