Kathryn Hahn will star in a Hulu series adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s Tiny Beautiful Things, Deadline reports.

Strayed’s book, a collection of advice columns she wrote for the Rumpus’ “Dear Sugar,” was published in 2012 by Vintage. A critic for Kirkus called the book “a realistic and poignant compilation of the intricacies of relationships.”

Hahn, known for her roles in series including Crossing Jordan, Transparent, and Mrs. Fletcher, will play the “Dear Sugar” columnist on the show, which is being created by Liz Tigelaar (Life Unexpected, Little Fires Everywhere).

Tigelaar will also be an executive producer of the series, along with Strayed, Hahn, Reese Witherspoon, and Laura Dern. Witherspoon and Dern starred in the 2014 film Wild, based on Strayed’s memoir.

“It has been such an honor to work with Cheryl Strayed, a writer who has had such a profound impact on my life, and, along with an amazing writing staff, adapt her book into [a] series,” Tigelaar said. “And I’m beyond thrilled to be working with Kathryn Hahn, whose gift is imbuing the fierce, complicated characters she portrays with humor, honesty, and vulnerability.”

Strayed also struck a grateful chord on Instagram, writing, “So excited to share this news! I can’t wait for you all to see it on @hulu! It’s a longtime dream come true, made even dreamier by the fact that so many magnificent people are on the team making this show.”
