Sen. Kamala Harris, who officially became the Democratic nominee for vice president on Wednesday, is the subject of a children’s book coming out next week, the Associated Press reports.

Nikki Grimes’ Kamala Harris: Rooted in Justice is slated for publication on Aug. 25 by Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing. The book is illustrated by Laura Freeman.

The publisher calls the book “the incredible story of a young daughter of immigrants who would grow up to defend the rights of people everywhere.”

“Told in Nikki Grimes’s stunning verse and featuring gorgeous illustrations by Laura Freeman, this picture book biography brings to life a story that shows all young people that the American dream can belong to all of us if we fight for one another,” Simon and Schuster said.

A reviewer for Kirkus calls the book “worth sharing with children” and “a one-time read for most, but a worthy addition to the reference shelf.”

This isn’t the first time Grimes has been inspired to write a children’s book based on a political figure. In 2008, she published Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope, just months before the then-senator was elected president. Illustrator Freeman has contributed art to books about Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, tennis star Althea Gibson, and music legend Aretha Franklin.
