Tina Fey is bringing Elle Cosimano’s Finlay Donovan Is Killing It to the small screen, Deadline reports.

Cosimano’s novel, published in 2021 by Minotaur, follows the title character, a divorced author hired as a contract killer after she’s overheard discussing the plot of her latest suspense novel with her agent. A critic for Kirkus wrote of the book, “Suspenseful, funny, and even a tad mysterious. More, please.”

More did indeed follow. Cosimano brought Finlay back in five other novels, including Finlay Donovan Knocks ’Em Dead, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, and, most recently, Finlay Donovan Crosses the Line, published by Minotaur on Tuesday.

Fey, the Saturday Night Live alum known for creating the sitcoms 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, will develop the adaptation alongside Lang Fisher, a former 30 Rock staff writer and co-creator of the Netflix series Never Have I Ever. Fey, Fisher, and Cosimano are among the executive producers of the series, which will stream on Peacock.

Cosimano shared news of the adaptation on Instagram, writing, “I just got off the plane and I’m rushing to my next tour stop, but I promised you big news, so big news you shall have! Readers, it has been so hard keeping this news under wraps. I am elated! I am floating!!! This is the announcement dreams are made of, and this team is everything!!! Who’s ready for a TV series?!?!”
