Saturday Night Live alum Leslie Jones will tell the story of her life and career in a new memoir, People magazine reports.
Grand Central will publish the comedian and actor’s Leslie F*cking Jones this summer. The press says that in the book, Jones “opens up for the first time about how she faltered and triumphed on the road to success and, in doing so, encourages others to let go of the fear and self-doubt that holds them back.”
Jones, a Tennessee native, was a prolific stand-up comedian before joining SNL as a writer in 2014. Later that year, she joined the cast, and quickly became a breakout star, earning two Emmy nominations for her performances on the series. She left the show in 2019.
Jones’ memoir will cover her youth moving across the country as a military child, her experience as a star high school basketball player, and her career in comedy. “Leslie F*cking Jones is a love letter to regular people just trying to make it day to day and proof that if you fight for yourself, you can live a bigger life than you ever imagined, and you too can be undeniable,” Grand Central says.
Jones announced her memoir on TikTok, with a video showing her reading a copy, and calmly saying, “It’s such a compelling story. It’s so interesting, and filled with so much of my life. How do I know that? I was there.”
She then says, in a much more excited tone, “No, for real. Oh, my God, I got a book, y’all! Look, Leslie F*cking Jones. Leslie F*cking Jones! Y’all got to buy it!
Leslie F*cking Jones is slated for publication on Sept. f*cking 19.
