Nicola Yoon’s next book will be a young-adult romance novel, People magazine reports.
Delacorte Press will publish the author’s Always One More Time next year. The press calls the book “a once-in-a-lifetime romance about the magic of a perfect almost and the miracle of an accidental always.
Yoon made her literary debut in 2015 with the young-adult romance Everything, Everything; the book was adapted into a 2017 film starring Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson. It was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller, as was Yoon’s second book, The Sun Is Also a Star, which was shortlisted for a National Book Award and adapted for a movie starring Yara Shahidi and Charles Melton.
Yoon has co-written three books— Blackout, Whiteout, and Breakout with Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D. Jackson, Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, and Ashley Woodfolk. Her latest solo book, the adult novel One of Our Kind, was published in 2024.
Always One More Time, Delacorte says, will follow Tallie, a girl scheduled to undergo surgery for the same heart condition that took the life of her mother. She tries to track down a boy with whom she felt a connection before they were separated, but she ends up contacting another boy, instead, and starts to develop feelings for him.
“I couldn't be more thrilled to return to young adult with Always One More Time,” Yoon told People. “Tallie and Owen’s relationship has been building in my head for a couple of years, and I’m so excited to finally share their epic love story with readers.
Always One More Time is scheduled for publication on Feb. 2, 2027.
