British Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley is writing a book about one of his main passions—and it’s not diving.
Daley, who was frequently photographed knitting at the 2020 Summer Olympics, will publish a book about the hobby this fall, NBC Sports reports. Dey Street Books says that Made With Love: 30 Stunning Projects To Craft With Mindfulness, Wear With Pride, and Gift With Joy is “yarn crafts made very cool.”
Daley is one of the most recognizable divers in the world. He won bronze medals at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, and took home the gold two years ago in Tokyo.
He delighted Olympic audiences by knitting in the stands when he wasn’t competing; he picked up the hobby in the first days of the Covid-19 quarantine. He was particularly proud of a cardigan sweater he knitted featuring the British flag and the Olympics ring logo.
Dey Street says the projects in the book “run the gamut from toys to clothing for adults and kids to home décor.”
Daley announced his book on Instagram, writing, “So yeah, it’s no secret that I am completely knitting obsessed!! For me it’s fun, creative and never fails to calm my mind…it really offers something for everyone…Genuinely so excited for you to be able to see this book because I’m in love with it already.”
Made With Love is scheduled for publication on Nov. 22.
