The Texas Book Festival announced the first 16 authors who will be featured at the annual event in Austin.

Stacey Abrams, the former minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, will attend the festival. She is the author of several thrillers, romance novels, and nonfiction books; her most recent one, Rogue Justice, was published in May.

Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, author of the buzzy Chain-Gang All-Stars, will be a guest, along with Ann Patchett (Tom Lake), Abraham Verghese (The Covenant of Water), S.A. Cosby (All the Sinners Bleed), Andrew Sean Greer (Less Is Lost), and Walter Isaacson (The Code Breaker).

Three authors at the festival will be promoting their books for children: Jacqueline Woodson (Remember Us), Angie Thomas (Nic Blake and the Remarkables: The Manifestor Prophecy), and Vashti Harrison (Big).

The initial lineup also includes Curtis Sittenfeld (Romantic Comedy), Lawrence Wright (Mr. Texas), Luis Alberto Urrea (Good Night, Irene), Roger Reeves (Dark Days), Elizabeth Crook (The Which Way Tree), and Rachel Louise Snyder (Women We Buried, Women We Burned).

Hannah Gabel, the festival’s literary director, said in a statement, “We have some really exciting programming in store for this year’s Festival. This list is just a glance at some of the incredible talents we have joining us in Austin this fall.”

The Texas Book Festival, which is presented by the supermarket chain H-E-B, will be held in downtown Austin on Nov. 11 and 12. The festival is free and open to the public.
